Now that many of us are staying at home to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, it is a good time to try and heal ourselves each day. Self-healing and meditation are some of the way that can help to strengthen our resistance from the disease and the many negativities linked to it.
Boost your health through self-healing
There are many different types of energy oriented self-healing methods that you can turn to, including prana and reiki healing. It has been widely said since ancient times that people have had the ability to heal themselves through some of these methods.
The words prana and reiki refer to the universal life force or universal energy that your body can use for healing. This is mainly done by controlling or directing the supply of this energy to various parts of the body, promoting better energy flow and preventing energy blockages.
One self-healing method I would recommend is to focus your energies on your solar plexus, also known as the manipura or the third chakra. Doctors refer to the solar plexus as the complex nervous system located in the pit of the stomach that is important for organs like the stomach, kidneys, and liver to function.
You can begin this self-healing method by placing the palm of your right hand on your solar plexus and the palm of the other hand on top of it or below your right hand. Close your eyes as you concentrate on the heat radiating into the solar plexus. At this point, you are sending energies to your body and lessening its pain. Do this frequently and it can help to strengthen the solar plexus.
Some say that other benefits of this self-healing method include treating indigestion, the common cold, and strengthening your lungs.
Others believe that self-healing could also cleanse your aura by bringing greater positive energy, hopefully shielding you from the COVID-19 disease.
Regain calm through meditation
The constant exposure to social media chatter and news surrounding COVID-19 can create anxiety and stress in many. Now that many of us are staying at home, try to seek calmness and clarity from all the COVID-19 noise through meditation. That way, you can keep the mind firm and stable.
Find a quiet spot at home, switch on some soothing music, and take a seat. You can pick relaxing sounds to play in the background, such as classical music or ambient sounds of the ocean and nature. This can be done either night or day and it is not necessary to sit in a dark room.
Wherever or whenever you decide to meditate, make sure you are seated with your legs touching the ground.
Sit on a chair or cross-legged on the floor, rest your hands on your thighs with the palms facing upwards, and begin your meditation.
Do this about half an hour each day and you may find yourself calmer and your mind clearer.
For beginners, it may be difficult to focus on your meditation at first, especially when you have a very cluttered mind. But with daily practice, you can improve.
